A new way to pick apples at Soons!
Join us Saturday 9/26/26 for a special, reservation-only apple picking experience at Hampton Station, our orchard at 634 County Route 50 in New Hampton, New York in the lovely (and fun!) Hudson Valley.
You'll head into the orchard for guided apple picking with a member of the Soons family, then hop aboard for a wagon ride through parts of the orchard that aren't normally open to visitors. Along the way, you'll learn a little about the apples we're growing, the orchard, and more than a century of Soons history.
Afterward, relax at Hampton Station with a Soons cider donut and fresh-pressed apple cider — both included with your ticket.
And, of course, take home the apples you picked!

Each adult reservation includes one 5-6-quart reusable picking bag to fill with apples, plus guided apple picking, an orchard wagon ride, and fresh-pressed cider & a Soons cider donut for each guest

Additional Peck — $20
Add an additional 8-quart drawstring picking bag, approximately 10–11 lbs of apples below.
Additional bags may also be available for purchase at the orchard, depending on crop availability that day.

We expect to be picking Macoun, Liberty, Crimson Crisp and a mystery apple in rows 5/6!
This is a working orchard, so Mother Nature always gets the final say! Varieties and quantities may change depending on ripening and availability.
Why is apple picking different this year?
If you've visited Soons for U-pick before, you'll notice we're doing things a little differently (OK, a lot differently ;)) in 2026.
Our orchard was hit by the unusually severe April freeze that affected farms throughout the region, leaving us with a smaller apple crop than usual.
Rather than open the orchard for traditional U-pick and risk picking through that limited crop too quickly, we're trying something new: a small, reservation-only orchard experience.
It allows us to bring you into the orchard, show you what's ready, share a little about how we grow our fruit — and still take good care of the apples Mother Nature left us.
This Saturday is our second outing! Additional dates may be offered depending on crop conditions.
🚂 Welcome to Hampton Station
Our U-pick orchard sits beside the route of the old Erie Railroad (now the Orange County Heritage Trail), and we've dubbed this corner of the farm Hampton Station in honor of the station that once served this area.
Yes, there's even a caboose. You'll understand when you get here. 😉

Each session is limited to 50 guests. We'll divide into smaller groups: while one group explores and picks in the orchard, the other heads out for a wagon ride. Then you'll switch!
Allow approximately 75–90 minutes for the full experience.
🌦️ Weather
This is an outdoor farm experience.
If weather makes Saturday's event impossible, reservations will automatically move to the same time on Sunday Sept 27.
Please make sure your group is available both Saturday and Sunday before purchasing tickets.
If we must cancel the Sunday rain date as well, your ticket purchase will be refunded.
A few things to know before you come
This is a working orchard with uneven ground, grass, dirt and the occasional mud puddle. Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
Only Soons picking bags may be used for apple picking.
Please follow your guide's instructions about where and what to pick. Our crop is limited this year, and some varieties or sections of the orchard may not be available.
And please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour to check in. Because this is a guided experience with rotating groups and wagon rides, late arrivals may miss part of their scheduled experience.
